Kris participated in this self-esteem project highlighting the societal norms surrounding beauty by painting a vivid picture of real women in the community and the desires they have to feel beautiful despite their perceived limitations. Photography and project: ESTEEM by Hippie Skin Ogden Utah

Kris Rudarmel, a Utah native, struggled with low self-worth and was stuck in her muck for most of her life. (Low self-esteem is a thinking disorder in which an individual views him/herself as inadequate, unlovable, and/or incompetent. Once formed, this negative view permeates every thought, producing faulty assumptions and ongoing self-defeating behavior. Quoted from dosomething.org)

In 2005, she began the self-discovery journey to increase her self-worth. By 2016, she had finally reached her self-worth crest. At that same time, a new business venture was placed on her heart; Raw Bliss Wonder.

Kris now guides and supports women to rise from their muck, awaken and design their best life. Her mission is to inspire and empower 100,000 women and girls in finding their self-worth, lean on their inner courage, believing in themselves and feeling the fear and leaping anyway.

She does this by offering:

o   Online courses: Awaken Your Inner Warrior, Unstoppable Warrior Unstoppable YOU and Being Mindful Achieving Success

o   Courage Art Cards; Kris hand painted 53 cards (then digitally reproduced) with words she added that have helped transform her life

o   Speaks on “8 Ways to be Unstoppable”

o   3 month Mentoring program

A high majority’s of women’s self-perception is misconstrued because of childhood circumstances. This is where Kris’s low self-worth began; having ‘Dad’ issues.

About Kris Rudarmel and Raw Bliss Wonder

Kris sent out a survey in 2017 asking women to share their voice with inner struggles they deal with. The results were heartbreaking.  Here are a few of them: “Nothing matters” “How could you let yourself go?” “You’re not good enough” ‘I can’t do it because I’m not smart enough” “I can’t do it I have failed so many times, I give up” “You are a loser” “No use” and  “You’re weak and allow others to step all over you.”

Kris researched online and found these heartbreaking statistics:

  1. Dove Beauty reports 7 out of 10 girls/women believe they’re not good enough.
  2. Huff Post states, 4 in 5 women have low self-esteem.
  3. By age 13, about 53% of American girls are unhappy with their bodies. By 17, it’s 78%. And it’s not just girls either — new research shows that close to 1 in 4 boys experience body dysmorphia. – dosomethingnow.org
  4. 75% of girls with low self-esteem reported engaging in negative activities like cutting, bullying, smoking, drinking, and eating disorders. – dosomenthing.org
  5. 7 in 10 girls believe that they are not good enough or don’t measure up in some way, including their looks, performance in school and relationships with friends and family members. dosomethingnow.org

She then created her online courses and workshops offering guidance and support so they can self-discover and create their best life.

What makes this installation special is you. We invite you to view the stories of these women. As you view and ponder their journey, we will have pen and paper on hand and encourage all to pen a written submission to these brave women, to remind them of what makes them beautiful. As we raise funds to continue the project, these portraits and your letters of love will be gifted to each woman, to have in her home and to serve as a reminder of their unassailable value.
