Gratitude Journaling has been a part of my life since 2005. I was an overwhelmed Mom who drank way too much beer. I started soul searching for things to help me be happier. I also always saw the glass help empty. I was a pessimistic person with too much negativity going on in my life.

In 2005, I became aware that I needed to change some things about myself. So, I could lead a happier life. I began focusing on what I DID have in my life inst4ead of what I didn’t have. At the time we were living paycheck to paycheck (as we raised our 2 children). Instead of focusing on not having enough money to pay my utility bills I focused on the $20 I did have to pay towards one utility bill. I stared noticing my thought were more positive and I felt happier.

As I wrote/continue to write my 3 gratitude’s everything had/has me having a deeper sense of appreciation for life, for my kids and for my husband.

“Studies show that giving thanks and counting blessings can help people sleep better, lowers stress and improves relationships. Keeping a gratitude journal decreases materialism and bolstered generosity in adolescence.” https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2018/12/24/678232331/if-you-feel-thankful-write-it-down-its-good-for-your-health

Here a few of my gratitude examples: 1. I am grateful for this $15 to pay towards my gas bill. 2. I am grateful for my feet. Neuropathy hurts so bad but it reminds me to love my feet. 3. I am grateful for my husband who is in pain but continually provides for us.
